The type of yoga I practice and teach is Anusara yoga, with an emphasis of celebrating the heart and aligning with the Divine (spiritually and physiologically). And yes, that is Padmasana, Lotus pose.
"Padmasana" in Sanskrit? I'll have to look that one up. Oh, my, Sanskrit is so beautiful. I plan to take classes through the Hindu University of America at some point. They teach Hindu Philosophy, as well as Sanskri and Hindi. They have joined forces with Kerala Ayurveda out of Seattle. I would love more knowledge of Ayurveda as well! I think it's a great philosophy to have in general, not to mention mixed in with the raw foods lifestyle. (I know that if I didn't use my peppermint and rosemary soap and shampoo everyday I'd be up the creek [if you know what I mean], quite possibly.)
Awww. Thanks for joining, Dear One. I haven't invited anyone yet, really, except one other soul...simply because I don't have everything fixed up as I want it right now. (Just learning about all this technological stuff. I'm more versed in nature than technology, for sure...especially living in Montana!) Thanks for letting me use the pic. It is so lovely! You are a much more advanced yogi than I...I just don't feel quite comfortable including my own as of yet, that and I am still waiting on my digi cam stuff in the mail. Oh, goodness, I'd best be off to bed. I must get my days and nights straightened out once and for all...rise with the angel of the sun, as the Essenes would say. Will respond to your e-mail soon, 'Miah. Have a beauty~full day~! Love ya, Friend.

Postscript: I'm doing Nicki Doane's Ashtanga DVD tomorrow morning at 4A! Oh, my! It will be sweet, though. What is the name of that other type of yoga that you recommended to me? Anaskara, was it? You said that the emphasis is on the breath and the movements are slow. (Something I like, as I am a Kapha in Ayurveda and am naturally slow! Ha.)
